Frequently Asked Questions

Store-bought pieces are mass-produced in standard sizes with limited options. Custom work is designed around your space, your style, and the way you use it, whether that's a built-in bookcase that matches an older home or a table that fits an odd corner.
-
Mostly it's the labor. Quality materials are a part of the cost, but the bigger factor is the time it takes to design, build, and install a piece one at a time. I am often able to use much higher-quality materials (hardwood plywoods and solid hardwoods) at a lower cost than you might expect. Large manufacturers lower prices through bulk purchasing, often using lower-quality materials (particleboard, MDF, etc.), and automated production, and I am not trying to compete in that area. What I offer is a piece made for your home, built to last.
-
It happens in three steps. First, we have a free consultation to talk about your space and ideas. Second, I create a design and estimate, and we settle on materials, finishes, and dimensions together. Third, I build the piece and install it in your home.
-
Yes. Each design starts with a 3D digital rendering, so you can see the finished piece and make changes before any wood is cut.
-
Timing depends on my current work in production, plus the build time for your piece. I'll give you a clear timeline when I send your estimate.
-
We offer flexible pricing based on project type and complexity. After an initial conversation, we’ll provide a transparent quote with no hidden costs.
